The Regal Tenbury 7:00pm
Christmas Concert 2012
It was fantastic to be back in The Regal for this years Christmas Concert. We were very pleased to have a full house which makes a great atmosphere and increases the funds raised for Cafe 27 the Local Charity we chose to support this year. We managed to raise £1000 which is amazing and will really help to highlight the work involved with this worthwhile charity.
The Attendance Awards were presented to Jose Breakwell and Benjamin Parker showing huge commitment from them both. There were also presentations of Grade 6 music certificates
for Francesca Parker on Clarinet and Georgina Salmon on Alto Sax. This is a massive achievement for these two young players. Thanks to Julie Kitson who teaches them and puts them through their paces!!
Many of the audience will have noticed that “The Apprentices” have expanded with many of our regular band members taking up a second instrument, which shows how versatile they are!! We must mention Will on the drums who did a great job being so far away at the back of the stage, also the “Apprentice” conductor didn’t do too bad!! Well done Mark for attacking the Post Horn with only 8 days notice. But Benjamin certainly showed Steven and Mark how it was done!
Obviously we can’t mention the Christmas Concert without mentioning the synchronised swimmers. Hours of practice behind the scenes were spent going over the routine. It was a good job the band couldn’t see what was happening otherwise the music would have stopped abruptly, however judging by the laughter from the audience it was a success.
